Crowns, Grande Prairie Dentist

What is a dental crown?

A dental crown completely covers a tooth, giving it structure and support. With proper oral hygiene and care, a crown can be a solution for the function of your smile.

Why would I need a dental crown?

If a tooth can't be repaired with a filling, or another dental procedure, then we might recommend a crown.

Crowns can be made of porcelain, zirconia or metal alloys.

What is the dental crown procedure?

You will usually need to visit the dentist twice to have a crown. At the first appointment. Dr. Nonkovic prepares your tooth for the placement of the permanent crown. Next he takes an impression of your tooth and the gum area around it. Finally, Dr. Nonkovic makes a temporary crown to protect the area. The impression is sent to a lab so that lab technicians can create a crown customized to your tooth.

At the second appointment, Dr. Nonkovic permanently cements the crown.
