At Access Dental in Grande Prairie, our dentists perform oral surgery to treat dental issues and improve your oral health.
What is Oral Surgery?
Our oral surgery services include the diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases, injuries and defects of the soft and hard tissues of the mouth, teeth, jaws, and face.
We always aim to use the least invasive treatment possible for a given dental problem, but in some cases, less invasive treatment options are not sufficient and oral surgery is required.
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that replaces the root of a missing tooth. When combined with a tooth replacement such as a crown or bridge, your dental implant will look and feel much like a natural tooth.
During a gum graft procedure, gum tissue is taken from the roof of the mouth and transplanted onto another spot on the gums. A gum graft can covers exposed tooth roots, repair receding gums, and reduce any associated symptoms such as tooth sensitivity or eventual tooth loss, to protect your oral health.
While it's always preferable to save a natural tooth if at all possible, sometimes this is not possible. If a tooth is too badly damaged as a result of decay, gum disease or injury, it may need to be removed by your dentist.
Widsom Tooth Removal
Wisdom teeth are the final set of molars that erupt in the back of the mouth. If the wisdom teeth are not erupting properly or making oral hygiene difficult, your dentist may recommend removing them.
Our dentists perform frenectomies for babies, children and adults when the frenum is restricting function, commonly referred to as tongue-tied, lip-tied or cheek-tied.
Bone Grafts & Sinus Lifts
A bone graft procedure involves the addition of new bone tissue to your jaw bone, making it strong enough to support a dental implant. A sinus lift is a type of bone graft where the bone material is added to the upper back jaw to raise and increase the amount of bone in the sinus area to place a dental implant.
